Trinity Turns on the Lights With Generator-Free Solution

From remote off-grid job sites to power outages in urban residential buildings, many of our projects require generators — oftentimes, multi-megawatt gens. But from distribution panels to transformers to cable, our solutions extend far beyond power generation. And sometimes, the best temporary power solution for the job doesn’t require a generator at all.

That’s why, when a client needed a temporary power solution for a greenhouse project in southern Ontario, the Trinity team leveraged our diverse inventory of distribution equipment to deliver a solution that was purpose-built — and generator-free.

The Client: A Family-Owned Electrical Contractor

With a focus on residential, commercial and greenhouse projects, this client, a Niagara-based electrical contractor, has been in business for 35 years. A family-run business, this company values integrity, hard work and building lasting relationships with their customers — just like Trinity Power.

The Challenge: A Greenhouse in Need of Lights

One of those customers, a greenhouse operator, needed a cost-effective temporary power solution to power their greenhouse’s lights — one that would integrate seamlessly with the site’s existing infrastructure.

Looking for a design that would achieve their customer’s goals, and the equipment to carry it out, our client came to Trinity Power.

Our Approach: A Generator-Free Solution

In order to create a system that would deliver power from the utility to the greenhouse lights, Trinity provided a 2500kVA 27.6kV – 347/600V transformer that would use the site’s existing infrastructure. We also supplied a 3000A I-line panel complete with 10 x 250A rated breakers to distribute to the multiple lighting setups on site.

Thanks to this generator-free solution, our client was able to offer their client a cost-efficient solution that made full use of the site’s existing infrastructure, saving big on generator fueling and rental costs.
