Trinity Powers Music Festival’s 10th Anniversary Run

Sunshine, camping and a steady lineup of great performances: nothing says “summer” quite like a music festival.

With their unique locations, layouts and requirements, music festivals are among the Trinity team’s favourite projects. So powering a high-energy electronic music and arts festival in BC was a great way to kick off our summer.

Founded in 2009, the festival operates without corporate sponsors, showcasing over 100 local and international artists and offering four days of art installations, workshops, yoga classes, and, of course, live music.

2018 was the festival’s 10th anniversary, and with this year’s event slated to be the biggest yet, the power and distribution requirements were greater than ever before.

Having worked with Trinity Power in previous years, the organizers knew they could count on us to design and source a temporary power solution that would handle all of their requirements, with the flexibility to adjust to the changes that inevitably accompany organizing an event of this magnitude.

Although the main stage for the festival was run on grid power, everything else needed generator power to operate. This meant that Trinity had to design a solution that would provide power and distribution for the other stages, the audio and all of the festival lighting, while also powering the campsite, food trucks and other vendors.

Working with four separate vendors, the Trinity team sourced over 700 pieces of equipment, including 3 x 150kW generators, 13 x 200A breaker disconnects, and over 17,000 feet of cable, along with a multitude of adapters to cater to the wide variety of food trucks that were present.

But Trinity did more than provide equipment. We also set the stage for the project’s success by offering flexible rental solutions and 24/7 service that ensured the client received the equipment they needed, when they needed it — all within their budget.

Thanks to a rock-star performance by the Trinity team, our client had the temporary power solution they needed to put on their best festival yet, and peace of mind knowing that all their power needs would be taken care of efficiently and within budget. All of this added up to a weekend festival goers will remember for a long time.
