Trinity Provides a Seamless Solution for a Switchboard Replacement

If Las Vegas is the City That Never Sleeps, Toronto is the City That Never Takes a Break. The city’s residents, and its infrastructure, work long and hard to get the job done.

That’s why, when our client, a leading North American contractor with over five decades in business, was replacing an electrical switchboard at a building in downtown Toronto, they came to us to design a temporary power solution that would keep the building in working order while they did their job.

This project had multiple components: the client planned to install a new 1600A breaker and replace the 1600A feed from the building’s backup 1600kW generator. They also planned on replacing two additional feeds from two automatic transfer switches located on-site.

In order to design the best temporary power solution for the project, we spoke with the client to determine their needs. With a deadline looming, we quickly sourced a 2500A dialable breaker disconnect, a 2000A and a 1200A fused disconnect and 134 pieces of 50 foot long cable from our Mississauga location, ensuring that it was ready to go as soon as it was needed on the job site.

Thanks to our large inventory and our quick and organized response, our client was able to complete their project while the building continued to operate uninterrupted. No breaks required.
