Why Rent Temporary Power Equipment

Renting Temporary Power is a Smart Decision

Shutdowns, turnarounds, camp power, planned maintenance and emergency response… these are just a few examples of times when temporary power equipment might be needed. But, why rent? Well, there are a lot of reasons renting can make sense, the most obvious being associated cost savings. Why sink capital into a 2000kW generator for a 3 – 6 month project when you can rent one for less than a tenth of the cost of owning? The same can be said for the distribution equipment needed to step the voltage up or down – along with the transfer switches, transformers, panels, protection, cable and other equipment your job might require.

Plus, owning equipment also means overhead expenses, including maintenance and repairs, storage, labour, certifications, permits, engineering, planning and logistics. If you can achieve the same or better result at a tenth the cost with no or little overhead and zero headaches, the better question is why would you not rent?

Advantages to Renting Temporary Power

  1. Boost Cash Flow and Money Management
Rent the equipment you need, and save your capital to invest in areas that will grow your business and maximize your profits.
    Why rent temporary power equipment
  2. Control Your Costs
Renting provides significant savings over buying, so you can improve your project’s bottom line.
  3. Significant Tax Advantages
There are tax advantages for renting equipment rather than spending capital or lease improvement dollars on permanent infrastructure installations.
  4. Portability
Trinity’s rental power equipment can be relocated as your project expands or changes.
  5. Temporary and Flexible
The equipment is rented only for as long as needed.
  6. Repairs and Maintenance
Our QA/QC process will reduce or eliminates equipment or component failure and the cost of both downtime and call outs. Our equipment is guaranteed to be up to CSA standards when it arrives onsite.

With that said, there are times when buying may be a wiser option. It all depends on the scope of your project. We will advise you to buy if we feel that is in your best interest. Although our primary business model is rentals, we also manufacturer and sell equipment if the project scale justifies it. Lastly, we have access to the largest temporary power distribution network in Canada; we can locate the equipment you need and broker the sale.
